Tour highlights:
After 2 and half hours drive, you will reach Bansko – world famous Bulgarian resort. There you will have a walk along the streets of Bansko, with a visit to the Hilendar convent and the typical Bulgarian “Velyanova house”. You will be able to enjoy the beautiful nature of UNESCO listed site “Pirin mountain” Nature Park.
After lunch, the tour continues to the Rila Monastery (UNESCO world heritage listed site).
It is the biggest monastery in Bulgaria and it’s name originates from the famous St. Ivan Rilski, who once was hermit in the mountains. Rila Monastery is located in 1147 meters altitude, in the middle of the fragrantand dense pine forests of Rila Mountain. It is a complex of cultural, dwelling and farming buildings, which is spread on about 8800 square meters. The monastery is a magnificent jewel of the orthodox heritage of Bulgaria. It has been a part of UNESCO world heritage sites since 1976.
